......................................................................................................

Update - Mountain Vista wide receiver Sean Conway

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love to play sports in college that is definitely one of my goals and one of the colleges that I would want to play at is Colorado University. They have amazing facilities and I love the campus.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Some colleges have shown interest to me but I haven’t been recruited yet.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“With me being a sophomore schools have not really been in much contact.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have been to Kentucky, Washington, Colorado and Colorado State.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“I have a trip planned to go and see Arizona and possibly Arizona State. This summer I will be attending many camps at different colleges just not sure where yet.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Growing up I liked CU because my dad went there but I also like Notre Dame because my Grandpa played football there.”

......................................................................................................

Update - Buena Vista athlete Caleb Camp

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Right now I have a lot of interests for wrestling but as of right now I have a lot of doors opening for me in baseball and football, so we will see.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Right now I have had tons of colleges reach out but the two main ones right now are West Point and The Coast Guard Academy but it has been real hard for me to find one that really interests me.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Coast Guard Academy.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips yet as I am waiting to find the one I really want to visit and once we do that I will be going on some visits.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“We have been talking to Coach Ward of West Point and I will be looking to go to New York soon to visit.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I loved the Texas Longhorns when I was little, love the place they are from and love their program.”

......................................................................................................

Update - Denver North wide receiver Lorenzo Guerra

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I do plan to play college football and that is my goal. Does not matter what program or which division football is football to me, and if you love the game unconditionally the hard work will pay off.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I haven’t been getting any super [big] recognition but I have gotten a personal call from ENMU, I have talked to Coach Anderson via twitter from Dakota State, and texts and emails from Coach Gifford up at El Camino College. I’ve also gotten messages from Coach Titus at Concordia College, and Coach Brown from Cal Lutheran Football. Since I barely turned a junior this year I have not been able to do my SAT and PSAT and I feel that has slowed down my recruiting process because I cannot provide those scores. Once the testing season comes around and I can provide those scores, senior season will for surely be a heavy recruiting year for me.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“No particular School is recruiting me the hardest right now, but once one school see not just the stats that I put up (1st in rec yards league six 3a) but the hard-working student athlete that I am, more notice will come towards my name certainly. All it takes is one for more to come, and like I said during the previous question once testing season comes around senior year will be a great year recruiting wise.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any “official” college trips yet, but I do plan on going to college camps with my team and teammates. The Colorado State University Team Camp definitely helped me and the team as a team. We played against a great 5a state championship contender Ralston Valley, and another great 4a State-contender Palmer Ridge. Playing against big playoff teams as a smaller 3a team with a smaller depth chart builds character and grit. We always make sure to be scheduled up against the hardest teams to become better. Even when it comes to 7v7.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“Yes I do plan to take college trips soon whether it’s “unofficial” or “official” we will see very soon.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I never had one favorite college team but I always loved watching the big SEC and Pac 12 teams like Alabama, Georgia, and LSU because of the crazy atmosphere and energy they always have. Watching the crowd’s energy when a player scores is very exciting to watch, and I can only imagine how the player feels watching thousands of fans cheer for them. I want to experience that same feeling inspiring thousands of young kids to pursue their talents regardless of whether it's football or not.”

......................................................................................................

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The best player I’m going to face is probably going to be Will Rosenmeyer. He is a great corner and we play 7v7 together so I know that he is going to be a great player next year that will be very hard to go against.”

Update - Buena Vista athlete Caleb Camp
How did the high school football season go overall?
“For the most part we had a couple of hiccups as a team, that really had an affect on the end of our season, but for the most part I would say as an individual I filled my role in being a wide receiver and did everything I was able to do to make us as a team better, which shows I could have done better knowing the outcome of the season. But overall [it] was a great season for me coming out with no regrets.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am in wrestling season now, I wake up every morning at 6 and go workout before school at 8 and then after school I go straight to practice and grind, showing up when it’s dark and leaving when it’s dark. I am looking to win another title this year as well! Just one at a time.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Well of course we are losing some studs up front and in the back field but we also have some dawgs coming in and I know they will step up as us upperclassman will push them and ourselves to be better every day to get where we need to become football season and from there on we will see a good result.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“We like to see all of our competition the same as someone we need to beat, there is no specific person, just whoever is in front of us.”

Update - Denver North wide receiver Lorenzo Guerra
How did the high school football season go overall?
“The football season for me was definitely a different type of feel due to the fact that we had got a new Head Coach and a New defensive Coach. I was all over the place position wise on defense because my coach wanted to get a feel on how I played at certain positions. I was playing safety at the CSU team camp, then switched back to linebacker, but on the offensive side I always was a wide receiver. I feel like injuries during the early and late session hurt us tremendously, it took a lot of senior role players out of the roster and hurt our chances at playoffs because of the low-depth chart.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans now sports-wise is doing track this offseason working on my speed and explosiveness off the ball, always trying to get quicker out of my releases. Workout wise I tend to work on the things that I’m the weakest at, working on my balance and movement because that’s where I will thrive at, not benching 300+ pounds.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I have mixed emotions about how I think my season will go next year due to the fact that our defensive and offensive line was super senior heavy, but skill player wise we have all the positions filled that we need. We are a heavy class of 2024 team so we will also be senior heavy next year which is also a good thing. Coming off a great defensive season North High School had 3 all-league linebackers and 1 all-state. If we can get a line going during the offseason we definitely will do some damage and have a play-off run our senior year.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We have not gotten our schedule yet so I could not give you a specific team that I think will be our toughest opponent for the 2024 season but schools like the meads, Fredricks, Lutherans, holy families, the top 3a schools are definitely the ones that we know we have to work extra hard during that game week. But to be the best you got to play the best right? We might not be the team with the most players but our 30 guys will play their hardest.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Like my previous answer to the last question we haven’t received our schedule so I couldn’t give a specific player that I think we will have the toughest time against. I can say though that we have a lot of talent in DPS that I think isn’t getting enough recognition such as the 4a-5a schools. If you look at history players like Philip Lindsay and Calais Campbell both NFL players are product of DPS football. So I don’t think it’s a talent issue. I think it has to do with kids not wanting to go to these 3a programs even though they live by these schools. I know kids who will drive an extra 30 minutes out of their area to go to a bigger school.”

Update - Summit wide receiver Jackson Archambault
How did the high school football season go overall?
“My high school season was definitely one to be proud of. After our first playoff appearance in 14 years and the second-best record in school history of 9-1 in the regular season, I think everyone on the team saw an opportunity to do something really incredible and we capitalized on that.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans with offseason work: I’d like to get around 10 pounds bigger but that can only happen if I can retain my speed, which I feel is my biggest asset on the field. I’ll be running track in the spring and have set the goal to run a sub 50 400m dash and hopefully be top 5 in the state. Weight lifting is another one of my priorities; I would love to add some serious numbers to my metrics. I currently squat 380, hang clean 225, and bench 200. Hoping to add 75 pounds to my squat, 60 to my clean, and 35 to my bench. I’ve been in love with the weight room this offseason (and previous offseasons) not only for improvement of myself but to have a presence in there to give the younger players some assistance and to help them create and reach goals. This will also be my first year trying lacrosse which I’m stoked about.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We had 22 seniors last year so obviously there’s definitely some questions around the community and school about how realistic it is to reappear our success. However, our team is largely unphased by these rumors. If anything I think it’s just motivated us to work harder and continue this winning legacy the Summit Football Program has recently found. I have the utmost trust in my coaches that they will be able to scheme us into the best position to win. Not to mention our new stud QB you guys haven’t even seen yet! Shoutout Hank Chabot.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think our toughest game will far and away be Durango, they’re a well-coached team with a lot of returning talent, I still choose our guys 10 times out of ten. They’re definitely the game I’m looking forward to this upcoming season as they handed us our only regular season loss last season.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I wouldn’t say I put a lot of thought into individual players on other teams, if I had to say a specific individual it would be myself, I’m incredibly hard on myself and push myself to unhealthy levels sometimes and want to be the guy to make the plays and when I have opportunities and don’t capitalize it bugs me. One of the things I need to learn if I’m to capitalize on my senior season is to move on from previous plays.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“After I finished my first ever football season freshman year I told my coach my dream is to play college football at any level, I loved it that much. I haven’t let that dream slip my mind and push myself every day to be the best I can be because I understand if I don’t I won’t have the privilege to see my dreams materialized. I would also love to be a dual sport athlete in college and I’m hoping to attract some college buzz after this coming track season.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’m not currently talking to any college coaches at the moment but was previously talking to Wesleyan University and received a camp invite that I plan on attending this spring break.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“N/A.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I’ve yet to make any college visits mostly because I plan on attending a college I receive an offer from.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“N/A.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was always Miami because my dad was a big fan. Go Canes!”
