Colorado Prep Report Football Quotes

Find out what some of the elite players in the state are saying about how football now!

......................................................................................................

Update - Cherry Creek quarterback Aurelio Marchiol
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“It’s been a challenging year, personally I’ve shared playing time roles so I haven’t had a chance to show my maximum potential.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I’m very happy with my performance thus far. I have led lengthy drives which ended in game changing scores like in Ohio we went to play St Edwards and early in the 4th quarter I went in, we drove down the field which ended in a touchdown and taking the lead.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“It has been an amazing season performance wise across the board; our leadership has gelled the team and made us all better collectively.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“Playing time rotation, I think there’s a lot of players that need to get on the field for us that don’t.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Playing together and solid coaching so we can get to where we want to go this season. There’s been a few bumps in the road but our team is special in how we stick together after adversity.”

......................................................................................................
Update - Lutheran quarterback Ryken Daugaard
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“This season started a little rough with our first game, but our LuHi team was determined to work hard, on and off the field, to show the true team that we are. Personally, and as a team, we were determined to come out stronger the second week of play. Specifically, to date, I have gained more confidence and I am very comfortable working with our offense. Currently the LuHi team has a 6-2 record. Having support, knowledge and ability within your team makes for a great game result. Overall, our LuHi team is on a hot streak with offense, defense, and special teams. We are a strong team mentally and physically, accomplishing our goals.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“Yes, I have been pleased with my play this year. With each game, I have grown with my confidence, ability, and leadership. My team leadership is something that I continue to refine and work on each week. My game goals continue to be accurate passing, reading opponents defense, quick movements, positive leadership and great communication on the field when I lead the offense.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“The team has been doing great! Our LuHi team has stayed disciplined and has been executing plays offensively and defensively at a very high level. The coaching side for our team has been excellent. Our coaches do not just tell us to do something, they tell us why we do something so that we understand the game on a deeper level.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“Every week our team can improve on several items to refine our skills and prepare for playoffs and state. When the O and D determine their items to focus on for the week, the players and coaches go to film and field to refine, understand, and accomplish the tasks we identified. Ultimately, minimizing our game day mistakes will allow us to be successful on the field.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Keys for a continued successful season for LuHi happen with training on the field, in film reviews, being in the weight room with our trainers, and open communication. With these key items, we have positive group communication and productive hard work physically and mentally as a team.”

......................................................................................................
Update - Silver Creek offensive lineman Maddax Schaefer
How did the football season go?
“For me personally it was my best season yet and I’m really happy and proud of what I accomplished, but for the team, disappointing. I know our record should’ve been a lot better than it is and it sucks that we couldn’t make it to the playoffs.”

What do you feel your team could have improved on?
“I feel like we could improve on execution all around because a lot of the time we were almost there but just fell a little short.”

Were you pleased with how you played?
“I was very pleased with how I played this year, it was difficult at first stepping up and becoming a senior, but I feel like I had a real impact on the field more than ever and I really feel like I left it all on the field.”

What are your sporting goals going forward as of now?
“My goals as of now are to continue training to hopefully gain an offer from a college to play at the next level and get ready for rugby season.”
