DOMINATING - Most impressive team performance
Cherry Creek 27, Regis
Jesuit 14
There is a reason why Cherry Creek started the season as our #2
rated team in Class 5A. Head coach Dave Logan and the Bruins have lived up
to the hype so far and want nothing more than a state title. A brutal
schedule this year will get them battled tested for that.
THE BIG
FIVE - What else stood out to us
Cherokee Trail 35, ThunderRidge 7
Even with a new quarterback taking over, Cherokee Trail continues their winning
ways. They came to play against a ThunderRidge team hammered by
graduation.
Fairview 58, Grand Junction 28
After getting behind
14-0, the Fairview offense went to work and it showed with the jaw dropping
58-points that they put upon the scoreboard. The names may be different
but this potent offense continues to dominate.
Lakewood 26,
Fountain Fort-Carson 6
Is Lakewood better than people assume? Fountain
Fort-Carson started the year with a strong victory over Columbine but the Tigers
came to play here. This victory could mean that this unit is a potential
top ten team.
Legend 14, Arapahoe 13
Even with an elite
quarterback spending the fall focused on baseball, Legend got a great effort
defensively and it showed in holding Arapahoe to just thirteen points.
That focus and intensity will make them dangerous in 2014.
Valor
Christian 21, Pomona 12
Are the five time champions beatable? Pomona
fought with them toe to toe for much of the game and showed that they are
vulnerable. This game may be something to remember before the year wraps
up.
