Q&A with Frederick tight end Burke Eismann

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“For my school we have workouts Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday we have football, I lift Monday through Friday on my own and work agility and speed drills on the weekends.”

What do you feel you have improved on most this off-season?
“I think mostly I have improved a ton on my blocking, as a TE I need to block and catch, I’ve gotten better blocking as far as footwork and form when blocking.”

How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I think we will do very well; our chemistry is off the charts. We only graduated a few seniors last year so it will basically be the same team two years in a row. We really play together as a team.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our toughest game this year I believe will be against Broomfield. We are moving up a division from 3A to 4A and they seem to be the toughest ones we’re going to face, I believe if we play together as a team we can get the job done.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I don’t think there is an individual player we’re going to face that will be hard. It takes a whole team to win a football game, not an individual. You can have a 5-star athlete on your team but if the rest of the team isn’t in it for each other the team will crumble.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes I do want to play sports in college. I want to play football.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I have 4 D2 offers as of right now for football; SMSU, USF, FLC, and Wayne State college. However I have attracted a lot of attention from other D1 programs like SDSU, Wyoming, and EWU.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“The school that is recruiting me the hardest is probably (as of right now) either SMSU or FLC.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Yes I have made a ton. As I’m writing this I just got back from FLC, I’ve been to camps at Wyoming, SDSU, EWU, Colorado Mesa, Western Colorado, and others. I got invited to a ton of unofficial visits to various schools including the University of Idaho and WSU.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“Yes, coming in July I will be attending camps at UJ, mines, CSU Pueblo and Chadron State college.”

Have you done any camps this off-season? How do you feel you performed?
“I’ve done many camps this offseason and aren't great at all of them, earning 3 of my 4 offers at camps.”

Do you have any plans for camps ahead?
“Yes I will be at UJ, Mines, CSU Pueblo and Chadron State college.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“My favorite college growing up was the University of Notre Dame, my mom liked them and I liked their gold helmets. My mom and I used to watch the games together.”

Q&A with Erie interior offensive lineman Cash Rhodes

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“We’ve been grinding in the weight room looking to get stronger, faster, more agile. Competing in the 5A division now is going to be hard, it’s faster pace and more variety of play styles you’ll see in opponents. Going that extra mile to not only develop yourself but also building chemistry and learning how your partners face adversity in the weight room and with our on the field stuff too.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I definitely have felt my strength as well as my aggression improve. We (Erie) always have what seems to be a target on our back, people don’t like us, that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The only way to prove somebody wrong is to take any chance given to show them what’s up!”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think our team will turn some heads moving up to 5A. Erie has always been doubted so I believe our team will do well next season and I’m excited to see what happens come August.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I don’t like to view anyone on our schedule as tough quite yet, I know we’re going to see what we’re dealing with and make our adjustments week by week.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“There’s too many people to name! I mean being a two way player I see guys like Carson Hageman, Dylan Firebaugh and Gio Giampietro on the defensive side of the ball treating every snap like it’s their last and balling out like Gio’s a shifty kid you may think you have him on the ropes but then … boom he spins off you and he’s in the backfield making a play, and Carson he can read your hips like a book and know exactly where your weight is and straight up embarrass you and Dylan is a helluva DB. The kids are always in the film room knowing what to expect against our opponents and he can make a play like no other. pivoting from that on the Offense, guys like Cole Powell, Ronin Ward, and Braylon Toliver just to name a few. Cole can ball out any chance you give him, he’s ready to make a Defensive Ends night hell. Ronin’s so technical at QB he’s always searching how to make a defenses job just a little harder every snap, if he notices any mistakes in a defense he can automatically play it against them. Braylon knows how to hit a whole and he can put our team in the best situation possible, plain and simple. At Erie we don’t like to look too much into the past but I always think about one specific play in the State Championship game, we were at about mid field and I pulled as the Right Guard and Palmer Ridge knew what was coming, Braylon was already there with the ball and noticed the amount of traffic, he didn’t like it. Strapped all of the small town of Erie Colorado on his back, noticed a cutback lane hit it and scored.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I want to play football in college, it’s always been a dream of mine.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Chadron State, Colorado School of Mines, Emporia State, CSU Pueblo and Jamestown like me a lot.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I can’t give this to one school, three stand out very much. Chadron and Colorado Mines Coaches love to talk ball with me and I’m all for it! I’ve also seen Pueblo and South Dakota School of Mines knocking a lot on the door (Twitter DM’s) as of recently.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Not yet. I went out to Wyoming and Colorado state last summer for camps and I hopefully will be back up there soon.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“For sure, we’re going out to CSU Pueblo for a team camp, I’m also going to Chadron and Colorado Mines.”

What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“Making a point to go out to Chadron and Colorado school of mines this summer, I’ve also been considering Driving to Jamestown and South Dakota mines.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“I always loved watching SEC ball growing up. So that entire conference is near and dear to me. Also something about Oregon was always so cool to me, always loved the way they played.”

Q&A with Thompson Valley defensive lineman Dane Gray

What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“For off-season workouts me and my buddy Tim, who is new to the team, have been working out with each other, making each other better. We really emphasized legs this off-season to build speed and quick burst.”

“I feel like overall I’ve improved best with my technique. I’ve learned the pass rush moves and how to perfect them so now it’s just up to using them live.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel we have a great team coming up for this season. We lost some key players but definitely returned a lot for this season. We have very good depth and are guys who are willing to do what it takes to win.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think the toughest team we are going to play is definitely Pomona. They have a really solid team with a lot of returning players. And from the score against Loveland last year, they seem like a tough team.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“The best player I think we will face this year is Rider Easton from Loveland. Being one of the better quarterbacks we face this season, and with the offensive playbook switch they are emphasizing, I feel he will be a tough player to face.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“In college I really want to play football, I’ve played my whole life and never want to stop so going to the next level is my number one focus.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“My coaches have told me I have over 12 schools looking at me, the most interested being Wyoming, Western, Chadron, and Fort Lewis.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“The school recruiting me the hardest would be Fort Lewis. I received my first offer from them last week and they have scheduled an online visit with me.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I’ve made some trips during my junior days. I went to Wyoming and CSU, and have a padded camp with Wyoming, and one with Chadron coming up.”

Do you have plans for more trips soon?
“I might make the trip to Durango to see their school.”

What camps are you planning to do this summer?
“I have a team camp at Chadron later this week and have a Wyoming padded camp at the end of the month. I was thinking of going to the Air Force camp again too.”

Colorado Prep Report Football Quotes

Find out what some of the elite players in the state are saying about how football now!

......................................................................................................

Q&A with Northfield offensive tackle Aidan Martin
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I have been working with Jenkins Elite all off season to work on both OL and DL techniques. Our Northfield football team gets together three times a week to run and lift. This Spring I was on the track team for both shot and discus. All have helped me improve my agility and strength in different ways.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“My pass pro blocking techniques. We were a heavy run team last year and working with Jenkins Elite has helped me focus more on this area of my game.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“It will be our first season playing in 4A after we made it to the playoffs last year in 3A. We have some tough games at the beginning of the season and they will be a great test on how we will do.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Hard to say as it will be the first time we see many of these teams now that we are in 4A. Roosevelt is a school that we have always talked about and we are excited for the chance to play them.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Probably Heritage’s TE Tanner Tech.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Mountain View wide receiver Derrek Parker
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I've just been in the gym by myself working on my speed and strength getting as big as fast as I can for this season.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“My strength and drive for wanting to be the best definitely improved the most.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel we will do well this season as we can have a lot of talent and hard workers on and off the field.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I think the toughest team will be ourselves getting in the way of beating any other team.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“No one, we are ready for whatever comes at us.”

......................................................................................................

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?

Being one of the better quarterbacks we face this season, and with the offensive playbook switch they are emphasizing, I feel he will be a tough player to face.”

......................................................................................................

Strapped all of the small town of Erie Colorado on his back, noticed a cutback lane hit it and scored.”

......................................................................................................

How do you feel your team will do next football season?

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The team on our schedule that I think will be the toughest is Fort Morgan, I don't know much about them, but that's what makes me think that they're going to be tough.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“There is no individual player that will be tough for our team to handle. But there are some studs out there though that will give us some competition.”

......................................................................................................

RECRUITING REPORT

Updates from Cully Feeney, KC Mendoza, Dylan Anderson, Gio Giampietro, and Jack Brown. Find out who are recruiting these elite athletes right now!

......................................................................................................

Q&A with Durango safety Cully Feeney

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love the opportunity to play football after high school. This game means so much to me, there is no way I can let this fall be the final year I compete.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“Being from a small town, and last year being my first year as a starting Varsity player, I do not have a lot of schools looking at me yet. I plan to visit a few colleges this summer, to show my skills and passion. I hope that a few schools will look at my tape last year, and for this coming season. If they are willing to take a look, they are going to find someone that is a hard worker, great teammate, a leader, and a guy that does not miss tackles. My goal for next year is to build on the skills I developed my junior year as a safety/corner, and lead the team on offense from the Quarterback position.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“Like I mentioned above, I'm not being heavily recruited yet, but I believe that after this summer and fall, there are going to be a few teams that want to add someone with my work ethic, and love for the game to their roster.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I went to Colorado School of Mines prospect camp last summer, and visited Fort Lewis' Spring game earlier this year.”

Do you have plans for any trips soon?
“I will be attending a few prospects camps this summer, mainly with RMAC teams.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“When it comes to football, Notre Dame has always been my favorite team. The culture and tradition at ND are second to none. My dad went to school at Colorado School of Mines, so I have been following that program as well. They are an incredible Division II program, and went to the national championship in back-to-back years, which is an amazing accomplishment. Last summer at Mines Prospect camp I got a chance to throw the ball to Harlon Hill Trophy winner John Matocha.”

Colorado Prep Report Football Quotes

Find out what some of the elite players in the state are saying about how football now!

......................................................................................................

Q&A with Durango safety Cully Feeney
How did the high school football season go overall?
“It was a pretty good season. I loved the opportunity to get to play so many different positions. Nothing beats high school football, and being on the field with my teammates and best friends was incredible. Making it to the second round of the playoffs was a big accomplishment, although we obviously wish we could have gone further.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I am currently playing baseball for the Demons, and doing football workouts 5 days a week with the team before school. We have an awesome crew of DHS football players who work out during "zero hour", and it is really fun to see my teammates getting bigger, stronger and faster.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“We are moving from 3A to 4A next season. This is going to be a tremendous challenge, but I know that our team will be ready. We fully expect to make the playoffs, and then try to make a run.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I never want to overlook any opponent, but moving up into 4A, there are a lot of great teams. We open up against Montrose, who has always been a traditional power house. They lost a very close game in the semifinals last year, so you know they are going to be a huge challenge. Our new league next year is filled with teams with a lot of talent, but the one that stands out the most is Palmer Ridge. They made it to the state championship game last year, so you know they have the talent and hunger to get back to championship this next season.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“We are going to see tons of great players next year in 4A. We didn’t play any of these teams last year so it’s hard to pick out individual names. Just looking at MaxPreps it’s hard to know which sophomores and juniors from last year are going to step up and be impact players. We are going to have to take one week at a time, and not overlook anyone. We're the new kids on the 4A block, and we need to respect all of our competitors.”

Q&A with Mountain View safety/running back KC Mendoza
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“I am currently running in track and field to become faster for football and also going to the gym 6 days a week on top of all of football off season lifting.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“My speed has increased since last football season, as seen in track, I have gained half a second in the 100.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I think the team should show major improvement from last season and add some wins to our record.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The toughest team on our schedule this year I believe is going to be Wellington. Because they didn’t have too many seniors this last year and had some pretty tough games throughout the entirety of last season.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Our schedule has a lot of kids that are pretty tough but nobody stands out to me too much. But if I were to have to say someone it would be Wellington's QB Tanner Gray.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Northfield outside linebacker Dylan Anderson
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“While also training with lacrosse, I participate in offseason on and off field team football workouts as well as lifting on my own time.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“I feel like my most improved attribute from last season was my football IQ in seeing what’s happening on the field, which resulted in me being able to play smoother and faster.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Northfield football lost a lot of senior talent on defense which will put more responsibility on my end. However, we have plenty of young talent to fill positions which will hopefully translate to a successful season at the 4a level.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Some of the tough games on our schedule are definitely our early games against Mesa Ridge, South, and Heritage.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“South’s upcoming sophomore receiver, Alijah Landrum-Hamilton played really well as a freshman and he could definitely cause our defense some problems next year.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Erie defensive end Gio Giampietro
What have you been doing as of late with off-season workouts?
“The team and I have been working out in our zero-hour class that is before school. It brings everyone closer together and definitely helped us last year during the season.”

What do you feel you have improved on most since last football season?
“As a defensive end I’ve definitely gotten quicker off the ball, more explosive as well. And being able to change from speed to power during pass rush. #DifferentBreedPerformance.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Since we’re moving up to 5A people think we aren’t going to be as good as last year. I definitely disagree with that because we are capable of being great especially with our coaching staff. I think we’ll be a problem for teams.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“The teams that are going to be tough are Cherry Creek, Columbine, Grandview etc. But we have to think about week 1 and not overlook anyone.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
