Game Talk is a feature from Colorado Prep Report where we quote athletes
throughout the state about their opponent this week on the football
field. Quotes included are from Cherokee Trail vs. Overland, Ralston
Valley vs. Legacy, Mountain Ridge vs. ThunderRidge, Regis Jesuit vs. Highlands
Ranch, and Windsor vs. Niwot.

Jacob Knipp, Ralston Valley

Opponent - Legacy

Legacy: “I think we’ll fair pretty well. We haven't watched film yet but we have
a lot of confidence now. I think we’ll perform well during that game.”

The Legacy players: “We don’t know that much about them. We’ll be watching film
and find their players on offense and defense. We won’t take them lightly and we
can’t to win this game.”

Keys to a win: “Obviously for us we have to
execute and play an entire game. We can’t play one half and we have to be ready
every play. We can’t have any mental lapses. We have to be sharp with every
single play call.”

Rocco Palumbo, Mountain Vista

Opponent - ThunderRidge

ThunderRidge: “They got a lot of good players, especially on offense. I think we
can do good things on offense and we believe we can beat this team. No one is
giving up.”

The ThunderRidge players: “They have a great offensive line
and a lot of playmakers. Our offense believes that we can do big things against
their defense.”

Keys to a win: “We got to be able to take advantage of
their secondary and make plays in the pass game. On defense, we have to play
strong and hope we can hold them down.”

Terran Hasselbach, Regis Jesuit

Opponent - Highlands Ranch

Highlands Ranch: “Obviously they are not a very good team but we got to get it
done. We just beat Mountain Vista 56-0 this past weekend and they beat Highlands
Ranch.”

The Highlands Ranch players: “Their offensive line is fairly
undersized. They have a 5-foot-8 tackle and a 6-foot-4, 200 pound tackle that I
will be going against.”

Keys to a win: “It is just coming in like we do
every week and not underestimating the team. We have to shut down their running
back and do what we always do.”

...........................................................................................................

Tre Thomas, Overland

Opponent - Cherokee Trail

Cherokee Trail: “Cherokee Trail is a good team.
I feel we can win but we have to do it without our quarterback.”

Cherokee
Trail players: “I know a few of their players personally and that they are a
good team. Our offense will have to watch out for Evan White.”

Keys to a
win: “I guess it is really being physical. Whoever comes out ready should win.
It is going to be a defensive game for us since our quarterback is out.”

...........................................................................................................

Zach Peck, Windsor

Opponent - Niwot

Niwot: “Niwot isn’t very good but we can’t overlook them as a team. We’ll
prepare the same way and come out to work hard in practice this week.”

Niwot players: “I know last year their quarterback was pretty decent. That is
about it.”

Keys to a win: “I think we need to keep doing what we are
doing. We have to make sure we are mentally sound on offense and defense.”
