What Class 3A football teams will be moving onto the semifinal round of the
playoffs? Colorado Prep Report previews each of the games, makes
predictions, and talks about the most valuable player in each contest.

#16 Pueblo East vs. #9 Silver
Creek

Silver Creek: The defending champions having really been clicking over the last
three weeks by scoring at least 44 points in three victories. This group
is the most talented and experienced team in Class 3A. If they stay
focused and come to play every night out, winning another title will be in the
cards. `
Most Valuable Player: Ben Sjobakken
Pueblo East: Few expected
them to do it but Pueblo East shocked the Class 3A world with an upset victory
over #1 Discovery Canyon in the first round of the postseason. Kurt Rode,
Marco Perez, and a host of others are pushing this team to another level.
Most Valuable
Player: Kurt Rode

Prediction: Silver Creek 38, Pueblo East 21
The Difference: The Raptors have
the playmakers to turn it on the postseason and do so here.

Percentage Chance of Lower Seed Upset: 5%

#13 Delta vs. #12 Glenwood Springs

Glenwood Springs: After starting the year with three straight defeats, Glenwood
Springs has found the perfect time to come together and the result has included
eight straight wins and a berth in the quarterfinals. Henry Hill has led
the attack offensively while the defense has seen Garritt Lowe step up in a big
way.,
Most Valuable Player: Henry Hill
Delta: It certainly
was not easy but in a first round full of upset, Delta did the deed against Holy
Family be making the big plays late. The Panthers are a young group with
Jonney Pounce and Cade Gafford dominating. The scary thing is that they
could be even better in 2014.
Most Valuable Player: Jonney Pounce

Prediction: Glenwood Springs 38, Delta 35
The Difference: The experience and
maturity of Glenwood Springs that they have shown during the second half of the
year

Percentage Chance of Lower Seed Upset: 40%

#6 Coronado vs. #3 Roosevelt

Rooosevelt: Two early losses helped refocus Roosevelt and the result is that
this group is one of the most dangerous clubs in the playoffs. Randy
Molinar has quickly become one of the best rushers in all of Colorado and is
averaging a jaw dropping thirteen yards per carry for the Roughriders.
Most Valuable Player:
Randy Molinar
Coronado: Austin Micci, Isaah Duvall, and Joah Smith have made
this a season to remember for Coronado and this group continues to play with
house money as no one predicted them to be here before the year began. Zeb
Foster is also a potential all stater on the defensive side of the football.

Prediction: Roosevelt 24, Coronado 20
The Difference: A tough schedule has
Roosevelt battled test for a game like this and it shows here.

Percentage Chance of Lower Seed Upset: 35%

#7 The Classical Academy vs. #2
Palisade

Palisade: This football factory has been led by the two headed rushing attack of
Dalton Hannigan and Levi Hoaglund. They have combined for over 2,400 yards
on the ground and will be ready to put up numbers on the scoreboard regardless
of the weather or the opponent.
Most Valuable Player: Levi Hoaglund
The Classical Academy:
Jantzen Ryals and The Classical Academy came up big in the first round and the
result was a hard fought win over Conifer. This group of Titans has a
knack for making plays down the stretch that push them to the win. The
hope is that they can do that here.
Most Valuable
Player: Jantzen Ryals

Prediction: Palisade 22, The Classical Academy 21
The Difference: In a game
that comes down to the wire, Palisade has more playmakers offensively that
propel them to the win.
